Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers regarding our WHOIS databases, dataset coverage, file formats, and subscription policies.

What information is included in a WHOIS record?

The WHOIS database functions as a searchable, public index detailing registered domain names worldwide. Querying a domain record reveals complete availability status, registrant owner details, official registrar information, registration and expiration timestamps, and assigned authoritative name servers.

How is your Complete WHOIS Database compiled?

Our systems continuously aggregate domain WHOIS records via our proprietary WHOIS Lookup API framework. Every retrieved response undergoes automated validation—records with complete, valid owner information are retained in our main database, whereas unassigned domains or entries with corrupt data are discarded. Note that our master historical database captures all domain registrations continuously from 2014 onward; records prior to 2014 are not included.

Are domain updates/modifications included in the feed?

No. Our dataset captures newly registered domains and comprehensive active domain WHOIS records, but we do not provide real-time domain update or modification transaction logs.

In what file format are the database downloads provided?

All downloadable database packages are delivered as compressed .ZIP archives containing data structured in standardized .CSV and .XLSX spreadsheet formats.

You can review the exact structure by opening a Download Sample File extracted directly from our master database.

Do you provide daily newly registered ccTLD domain lists?

The majority of country-code top-level domain (ccTLD) registries (such as .IN, .UK, .AU, .HU, etc.) do not publicly publish daily newly registered domain lists. Consequently, automated daily newly registered feeds are unavailable for certain ccTLD extensions, although full zone data is indexed through our custom web-crawling technology.

Does the Complete WHOIS Database bundle include ccTLDs?

No. Due to distinct registry access protocols and specialized crawling requirements, country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) are maintained as separate, specialized database packages rather than being bundled in the standard gTLD master archive.

How many days of historical data are accessible upon subscription?

Every active subscription grants immediate download access to the previous 3 days of historical WHOIS archives alongside continuous daily updates delivered every 24 hours. Each day's dataset is stored independently in its own compressed .ZIP file.
